I draw attention to, and discuss the legal, policy and broader implications of, the exclusively white, male composition of a seven-member organising committee and of the narrow composition of organising institutions of a planned academic workshop in the UK on merit, alongside the absence of any explicit reference in the workshop’s Call for Papers to race, disability, social class or gender.
