An exploration of compassion, wisdom, and the hinted relationship between personal judgement and judgment in law, drawing from my experience as a trained barrister, academic, and former therapist. It was prompted by attendance at a course on Wisdom and Compassion at Jamyang Buddhist Centre in autumn 2015 in the midst of a rupture in a working relationship with a colleague on a series of projects on law and compassion. Written largely in the period immediately after the course, it has been updated to take account of subsequent developments and feedback.
